CNC TURNING OF ALUMINUM ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR FOR MEDICAL SURGERY EQUIPMENT

We manufactured the aluminum electrical connector shown here for use in a surgical device, where quality and tolerances are critical to equipment performance and patient safety.

Utilizing 7/16” diameter 2024-T4 aluminum, we precision turned the part, which featured overall dimensions of 1.090″ in length, 0.410″ in diameter, and weighed approximately one-third of an ounce. The challenging aspect of this project was forming the full radius end and drilling a 0.500″ deep, 0.040″ diameter hole. Current annual production of this component is 12,000 units, shipped to the customer as needed on a 2-3 week turnaround.
